Job description

Our Client, a leading contractor, is seeking an experienced project quantity surveyor to join their established commercial team.

You will ideally have a BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification, and have over five years experience in a similar role managing projects between £2-6m- D&B, Residential or Main Contracting experience desired.

Requirements

You will play a key role in managing and overseeing all aspects of cost estimation, procurement, and contract administration for new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The commercial control of a one or two projects at any one time.
  • Contribute to the development of junior staff
  • Estimate and inputting effective cost control mechanisms
  • Provide timely and good quality management reports to the Commercial Manager
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Provide regular cost reports and forecasts, monthly project reviews and CVRs.
  • Liaise with clients understand project requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in supporting stakeholder management
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant field
  • Thorough knowledge of forms of contract including NEC
  • Experience working for a main contractor, within the residential or education/ commercial construction sectors
  • Previous knowledge and experience of operations and maintenance contracting are beneficial
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a senior role
  • Chartered status with a relevant professional body is ideal
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office
